December 31, 1970: McCartney Sues to Dissolve the Beatles

Paul was very busy in 1970. Having exhibited what the other three band members regarded as an overbearing manner, he announced the split-up of the Beatles on April 9, 1970. On April 17, his debut solo album McCartney was released, an album he recorded in his living room and for which he played all instruments. On December 30, 1970, Paul sued his band mates to dissolve the Beatles, and the following day, he filed an official suit to dissolve the band.
