January 13 in Beatles History

On January 13, 1964, Capital Records releasd the 45/single "I Want to Hold Your Hand"/"I Saw Her Standing There" in the United States. It was the first of many releases considered to be "double A" side singles.

On January 13, 1969, Apple Records released the Yellow Submarine LP. The album reached # 2 on U.S. charts and # 4 on UK charts.
