Hold Me Tight

One of the interesting things in the archive of Beatles facts about the group's early days is that a rough version of this song was actually recorded at marathon one-day Please Please Me album session on February 11, 1963 but not used. It was re-recorded on September 12, 1963 and used on With the Beatles in the UK and Meet the Beatles in the U.S. The song was probably written in 1960 or 1961 since the group used it in their early performing days, using it live from 1961 to 1963. This makes it one of the earliest songs to make it into the Beatles general catalog. The song was written by both Lennon and McCartney, although Lennon's contribution was minimal. In his Playboy interview, he stated that "Hold Me Tight" was a "pretty poor song."

McCartney sings lead vocal, with Harrison and Lennon handling backup vocals. Harrison plays lead, Lennon rhythm, McCartney bass, and Starr drums.
